ART 180 Takes the Bus

  • Art 180 114 West Marshall Street Richmond, VA, 23220 United States (map)

OPENING RECEPTION: Friday, August 3, 6:00-9:00PM

In the spirit of ART 180's 20th anniversary, a new exhibition opens on August 3 to celebrate the hard work and generosity of their talented program leaders, who design projects that let our youth express themselves and nurture our young people in finding—and using—their voice.

Through a partnership with GRTC, ART 180 has been displaying artwork created by 20 of their program leaders on 160 GRTC buses throughout the city, and now those pieces of art are coming to ART 180! ART 180 will host an opening reception for the exhibition on Friday, August 3, from 6:00-9:00PM during RVA First Fridays. The reception is family friendly, open to the public and features an all-ages activity.

All 20 works of art will be exhibited at our Atlas gallery in Jackson Ward in August, during First Fridays. The work will be for sale, and proceeds will be shared between the artists and ART 180—to keep these programs going for another 20 years! The show will remain on display at Atlas, ART 180's art center for teens, through Sept. 4.

Atlas is located at 114 W. Marshall St. in Jackson Ward and is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment.

In the meantime, keep a look out for these 20 pieces of art traveling around the city.
